Emma Fitzpatrick’s work revolves around printmaking, painting and drawing. She works with a variety of media including etching, monotype, watercolour and ink and draws influence from people, architecture and landscapes. She works both outdoors and indoors and is a member of the Leicester Print Workshop.
Emma is interested in the theme of time and man’s inventiveness in creating environments to live in whether they be in busy cityscapes or remote country landscapes. The ‘Scape’ series of monotypes is part of a new body of work. The theme is about forces, sometimes invisible that have impactful change on landscapes.
The work is in part influenced by the remote landscape and wild weather experienced during her three week art retreat in Cill Rialaig, Ireland in January 2020. The ‘Scape’ series was printed at home using her small portable press. Her etched prints were produced in the Leicester Print Workshop.
