Emma Gardner is a UK based artist and printmaker, who creates original artwork using collage, drawing, photography and printmaking processes. Emma’s practice is shaped by her response to places, the environment and its transition. Her works often evoke a sense of stillness, isolation and silence within ambiguous places.
“Printmaking is a natural tool for examining thoughts and meaning in my practice, helping me to visualise and develop an image and its story. It is the key in an explorative journey from taking a photograph or drawing to creating a print.”
Emma studied Fine Art at De Montfort University, Leicester. She been an LPW member since 2013 and was awarded artist in residence at Leicester Print workshop (2015-2017). Emma now regularly teaches a wide variety of printmaking courses, look out for her courses in the LPW programme.
